What should I wear with these shoes?

I realize that I should have put this in Fashion or whatever, but I chose to put it here, so please don't lecture me on where I should place my questions.





One week from today, I will be going to court. It is to get full custody of my daughter from my ex and to have her last name changed to the one that I, my husband, and her brother share. I just purchased these shoes last night.

And as you can see, they are pretty "wild". What should I wear with these? Should I keep it simple with black pants and a solid sweater, or would it look okay to wear a printed shirt? Should I keep it simle or can I be bold with these? Help me out. (Will choose best answer)

Reply:You're surely not planning on wearing these in a courtroom, are you? If you want the judge to take you seriously, wear black pants and a solid sweater, and maybe either flats or a pair of plain pumps.

Reply:I would definately wear long black dress pants and a solid sweater, keep it simple and clean looking for the court room.
Reply:I would say keep it as simple as possible. Black pants, and *maybe* a printed shirt, depending on the print. I think maybe a block colour sweater would be the best option - that's what I would wear. Something red or green, like already suggested.





Good luck with the hearing - be sure to let me know how it goes. I'm sure there'll be no problems.

Reply:first off sorry so many people are rude i understand you i was going to change my last name to my moms but a) it was expensive and b) even though i havnt talked to my "dad" in about 3 years (at the time) he would have said no out of spite anyway


i like the shoes they are a little crazy though so i say black pants and a sweater that has a very faint pattern like black on black or grey on black something along those lines

Reply:I think Black professionally looking trousers would suit that well, preferably pinstripe but normal black trousers are fine.


I think a Black/Pinstripe jacket would go well with a white or pink shirt inside.
Reply:Don't get me wrong, I love the shoes. They're fun and I would definitely wear them, but not to court. You want the judge and the attorneys to take you seriously, especially when you're going to get custody of your daughter. I would wear a pair of heels with a pant suit or dress, or a pair of dressy boots with dress pants and a nice top or sweater. Save the boots for when you go out with your family to celebrate your victory! Good luck next week.

Reply:I wouldn't reccomend wearing wild shoes to court. This is a very important event and I would suggest wearing something simple like a pair of black/brown flats with maybe a casual workday suit if you dont have a suit where are pair of dress pants and a blazer make sure you appear responsible and put together, first impressions mean a lot even in court.

I don't know if I'd do a printed top, as that may be TOO much. I think black pants and a solid sweater will look nice without it looking tacky, you know? A green or a red sweater would look nice.
