Silly question about feet - help! :(?

I'm a cash-strapped college student with a very annoying problem. My foot are 10 and half inch long and i'm a guy (so nothing out of the ordinary). But i guess maybe its a bit wider than most. What i mean is, some of the very pointy professional shoes cause my foot to hurt, so i buy wider looking shoes.

Anyways, my problem is, every shoe i buy lasts me at most 3 months. I don't abuse it or anything, all i do is just walk! And within 3 months i end up having cracks at the bottom of my shoe and rainwater starts wetting my socks! (very annoying)

Can someone suggest me some really rugged (and cheap) boots that can take a lot of punishment and last me at least a year? The last shoe (by some company called ozark trails - i got it on a discount at walmart).. the whole sole broke off after just 4 weeks of walking! :( I don't have money to keep buying shoes like this.

So... kindly help. :) And thank you ahead of time for your answers.

well since you really only are going to have 1 pair of feet in your life you should take the best care of them as possible. IF you are currently spending $15.00 or so on you shoes, then just endure the poor quiality of shoes for a few months and save your money up for a quiality pair that might be a little more expensive. after all your feet are worth it.
Reply:So very right about good shoes also try www.zappos.com they have great shoes. If you spend a little money even if the shoe wears out after a few YEARS you can have it resoled as long as the upper is good. Here is another idea get your feet measured properly length and width to make sure you are wearing the right size shoe.
Reply:Go to a hardware store like Ace or Lowes and buy an $18 pair of the black rubber boots that they sell. They're the best cheap shoe going, and will last a very long time. If people look at you funny tell them that your doctor recommended them, they'll shut up.

Your whole problem is cheap shoes. Cheap is cheap, unless you're buying GOOD shoes at a deep discount. Cheap shoes are no good for your feet, and a waste of money.

Wear the boots for a while and save the money that you'd keep spending on crap from Walmart to buy a good brand of boots on sale. Something like Rockport, Timberland, Dunham, Florsheim, Vasque, Ecco, Wolverine. All good, well made, long lasting brands.

I always buy good quality, it's worth it. I'm frugal by necessity too, though, and only buy on sale. I get all of my shoes on this site, they have great sales, usually with free shipping, and the customer service is superb.

Check out the sales, haul on over to the hardware store and get your cheap boots, and start saving for something decent. If you get on the site's e-mail list, they'll keep sending you sales mail, often offering 20% off plus free shipping on everything on the site.

That's the time to buy the sale items!

This place is SO worth it. I have an excellent pair of Timberlands that usually cost $165 that I got for $90. My last Timberlands served me well for 10 YEARS before I wore them out, and I wore them everywhere, all the time, they were even my slippers. For

$90 I now have a better model that I can expect more wear out of, and the price is equivalent to how many pair of cheap shoes?

Think about it, and do the right thing by your feet. Good luck.

Happy Holidays!
