How can i make my feet stronger for pointe?

i started ballet last year and got my pointe shoes this year. i work really hard and ive improved but does anyone have tips or exercises i could do at home to get stronger? thx

How can i make my feet stronger for pointe?
exercises:

-Relevés

-Flex then pointe slowly. (do this repeatedly for a couple of minutes)

-resistance bands

-Do tons of Relevés whenever you can. It strengthens your ankles and you feet muscles.

-You can buy resistance bands at discountdance.com they are amazing and really do work.

-Also running or jogging strengthens your leg muscles which is a MUST for pointe. If you have week leg muscles you will not be able to go up on pointe.

Good Luck with Pointe!!

Reply:Well, I know for a fact, since my mom was a ballerina, she suggests stretching your achiles and your arch often. You can do several stretches for your arches using and old t-shirt/towel, as you try to touch your toes when your sit and stretch (looks like a Pike jump but on the floor.) Put the fabric on your arch and bend your toes. Second, put the fabric on your toes when your flex your foot to really stretch the arch.

As for floor excerisizes, if you do your regular Tendu's ala First, Second, and from back, that should help too. Constently pointing your toes will help, but remember not to over do it. 15-20 minutes a day should do the trick.

Lastly, doing alot of Releves help. Trust me, it's not just your feet, alot of it deals with the strength in your legs as well.
Reply:walk of eleve alot. it helps you balance.
Reply:Stretching..., bending and flexing your joint - muscles. I've run alot of stairs before and that's real hard. When I was young I used to be a dance teacher, and guess what? My legs were the ones that got alot of definition!
Reply:No offense, but how do you go from ballet to pointe in ONE year, that usually doesnt happen.

It usually takes a few years and trianing in ballet to move to pointe.
