Your cat got sick because it wasn't vaccinated properly. Don't lapse on her yearly CVRPV vaccines and she won't get a 'cold' again. Viruses that cause upper respiratory infections in cats are present throughout the environment - on your shoes, in the air, the dirt, the carpet, the window had no added effect on her contracting the illness. Everything you're doing for treatment is correct, keep it up.

Wrapping her in the towel will only piss her off and cause her to be more afraid or more aggressive toward you, cats HATE being held down. With liquid meds I recommend scruffing her by the neck and holding her up so her front feet are off the floor. Hold her like this for a few moments so she is calm, and then quickly like a snake, stick the syringe in her mouth down to the back of her tongue and squirt half the medication. Give her a moment to swallow, and do it again. Then let her down and give her a treat if she'll take one.
Reply:one way you can use to give your kitten the liquid med is to wrap her in a towel with only her head showing and you won't get scratched when giving her it.

if you have any questions about feline herpes let me know, I have 2 cats that have it.
Reply:Try wrapping her in a blanket to keep her paws inside and hold the back of her neck to keep her head steady. We had to do this with my cat once before and she ended up taking to the medicine once she realized that we weren't going to hurt her with it. Hope this kind of helps!
