Pointe shoes?

yea, i wanted to know do glisse pointe shoes last a long time.[ the ones from capezio]. and the Pavlowa shoes that are coming back. Do those last a long time too?

Pointe shoes?
The life of a pointe shoe is truly only a few hours of advanced classes, but the glisse is pretty durable. I do have tot ell you, the glisse and the pavlova are nowehere near similar, somebody who can wear a glisse cannot wear a pavlova. The glisse is for wider feet with wider heels, the pvalova for a narrow foot with tapered toes.
Reply:I personally HATE the capezio pointe shoes. the box wore down really fast and got gooey. (like 2 months) and they just didn%26#039;t work for my feet.
Reply:personally i would go with Bloch, they accomidate normal widths and average sizes, are good for dancig only 2-3 times a week
Reply:Well, it all depends on the price. If the shoe is on the more expensive side, they will last longer than cheaper pointe shoes. Also, it depends on how many days a week you do pointe, and how hard you work your shoes. Hope my answer helps!
Reply:it depends mostly on how strong your feet are and how much you dance. i used capezio glisses for the past few years and personally loved them (they fit perfectly and look amazing). many of the dancers i know use glisses for this reason. however, i had pretty strong feet, so they would last me maybe 2 monthes before they got soft right at the tip of the box- not any other part of the shoe besides the shank which i broke in how i wanted it from the beginning and just kept it like that. they lasted 2 weeks-1 month at summer intensives. so, no, not very durable. although, you can prolong their life by really airing them out and sometimes you can use jet glue to harden the inside of the box (works about 3-4 times)...
Reply:i personally go with balance europeans.
Reply:i don%26#039;t think those pointe shoes are that great...try chacotts (veranese)
Reply:Pointe shoes last differently for different types of feet. if your feet are highly arched and strong, then your shoes are going to die faster than if you had weak flat feet. so it%26#039;s hard to give you a specific time frame...however one girl in my class uses those shoes and they%26#039;ve lasted her about four months before turning into mush...
Reply:I have used Grishko 2007, size 5, medium shank, XXX shoes for five years and they look amazing on your feet, are great for wide feet, or narrow, they have different widths, and depending on the kind of shank, last a long time. You can get these shoes at San Francisco Dancewear, Just for Dance, in belmont, or Discountdance.com.
