Do you have temporary swelling while pregnant?

I am only 14 weeks and feel like this pregnancy is so different from my others. I have sudden swelling in my hands and feet. My wedding rings will be so tight; I have to wiggle them off. My feet will tingle in my shoes. It seems to go away quite suddenly too. Don%26#039;t remember stuff like this from my last one. That was 7 years ago though. What would sudden and temporary swelling be a sign of?

Do you have temporary swelling while pregnant?
Here is the important question, what is your blood pressure when you are swollen?

Do you have headaches? Blurred vision? If you say your blood pressure is up, especially the lower number, and you have one of the other items, you have pre-eclampsia.

My daughter just gave birth yesterday. Three days ago she called and asked her %26quot;walking medical dictionary%26quot; (ME) what it meant for her hands to swell, get tingly and be red with white spots. I told her it was edema or water retention but knew to tell her to test her blood pressure. She was at Wal-Mart and even though those blood pressure stands by the pharmacy are not too accurate, she tested and found her bp at 148/98...way too high when it is usually 118/69. She went to the hospital and they tested her urine for protien. Sure enough, momma was right. The next day after sending her home for a 24 hour collection, she was admitted. The next day (yesterday) she was induced then the baby was in distress so they did an emergency c-section.

Long story short, go to your doctor.
Reply:Fluid shifts related to proteinuria. Pre-eclampsia.
Reply:I had swelling, every morning I had to sit up in bed for 20 minutes until it went away, my midwife said I was fine but if your concerned you should talk to your dr.
Reply:you are not supposed to, consult your doctor
