How am I supposed to ask my parents?

I really want these two pair of shoes for the fact that I%26#039;m going on People to People (like camp?) this summer and I want shoes that will be durable.

The first pair of shoe I want are Rainbow Sandals (the brand, not the color :P) because I%26#039;ll be walking a lot and I don%26#039;t want my cheap sandals to break. (I%26#039;m considering the pink ones, they are approximately $30 if I look for a good deal.)

%26amp;

The next pair of shoes are Sperry Topsiders. I find them very cute, but very expensive. ($50 perhaps if I%26#039;m lucky.)

How should I ask my parents? Both of the shoes @ once? One pair of shoes 1 month and the other the next month? (If I follow the month plan, I%26#039;m afraid my parents would say like %26#039;..but we just got you shoes last month.) Or maybe I should pick one pair or the other? (If I had to, what would you choose?) Or finally perhaps I should get over this shoe fixation and wait for my shoes like everybody else?

How am I supposed to ask my parents?
Maybe you should help out a bit around the house, earn a little money by doing extra chores, and offer to pay for part of them?

Answer mine?

Reply:Ask them if you can do extra chores to earn some money toward the shoes. You could mow the lawn, wash the car, clean the house, etc. If you are old enough, babysit to earn some money toward the shoes.

If your parents ask you to pick one of the types of shoes, that%26#039;s reasonable, you will just have to pick one.
Reply:Why would you want new shoes for camp? because aren%26#039;t they going to get dirty?

Anyway, you could always explain to your parents that the sneakers are for protecting your feet and walking and such, and the sandals are for when you want to let your feet breathe because it%26#039;s going to be hot.

$30 for sandals is kind of expensive...you could get flipflops instead. Or if you really want a certain kind of sandals or even shoes, shop at Marshalls, or TJ Maxx or Kohl%26#039;s. They have decent prices
Reply:a girl has got to have shoes, lol , i would ask them for the ones for camp,can%26#039;t have cheap sandals, but 2 pairs at one time or in a month from now they might hit you up with times are hard with the price of gas and food lately, but if you get me the first pair then i%26#039;ll do odd jobs around the house for the other pair. then when you get them you will appreciate them even more. well good luck and have fun at that camp
Reply:Just tell them and sound kinda apologic when you do. Tell them you understand that may not be able to one or either of them. But make sure you also tell them the one you need or want more than the other (I would want the second pair more than the first....but you%26#039;d be more likely to get the first pair because they%26#039;re cheaper). Try to hint that you%26#039;ve thought about it a lot and that you%26#039;ve done your research (know where to get them and their prices). Good luck with your camp and your shoes.
Reply:Just remind them that you need shoes for camp. Let them know that it means a lot to you to fit in with the others, could they possibly afford a more stylish shoe? They have a budget and surely want to provide for you the best they can. Just let them know what you%26#039;d like and trust them to do the best they can.
Reply:Maybe you could research on the Internet to find the cheapest place to buy them, then print out the pages and present them to your parents. Tell them that you would like to get both pairs of shoes, but if you can only get one, you will understand. Just be reasonable, they will appreciate that.
Reply:rainbows are comfortable.

i have 6 pair.

but they are not shoes that are going for camp.

trust me, last year i was a camp counselor and we had tooo many cuts.

sperry%26#039;s, i have those too, but they are only meant for boating, water activities. they get uncomfortable after a while, and they do not cost less than $60.

i say you go with what is more comfortable.
Reply:first of all,it IS campinggggggggggg. who CARES what kind od shoes u r wearing?????

what about just regualr running shoes?

and well,it comes down to this - if u don%26#039;t ask yuor parents - u ll never know if they let you have those shoes, right???? maybe u ll get lucky.
Reply:since people to people isnt like camping at all....i have been accepted but not going......you do need comfortable new shoes....and they wont get dirty...(just letting people know) but you will be doing walking so go with something very very comfortable..that you can wear even when camp is over!!!!
Reply:They%26#039;re two completely different styles of shoes. You%26#039;d probably need both of them for totally different situations, because you can%26#039;t wear your flip-flops everywhere.
Reply:If you explain why you need shoes, I dont%26#039; see the problem. Besides, $80 is much for two shoes. It%26#039;s actually really cheap.
Reply:Or ask to do some extra stuff around the house, wash there cars, sweep, dishes, excetra, earn the shoes,
Reply:Ask for one now and then wait a couple monthes and then ask for the next one. If your birthday is coming up, that can be on your bday list.....
Reply:just ask them..
Reply:ask them and then tell them that you will do extra chores and help out around the house...make whatever deals you can....
Reply:I would just explain why you need them and offer to pay for the cheaper ones

or like part of at least one of them
Reply:Just ask them and be sure to tell them why you want them. Offering to pay (at least half) couldn%26#039;t hurt either.
Reply:just wait patiently!!! You will be suprised on how you will wiat.
Reply:r u obsessed with shoes.
Reply:just ask for it for ur b day if its coming up
Reply:why dont u ask and say ull do a little house work in return
