Questions about foot and scar tattoos?

I had a surgery on my foot last year that left three very large scars. They have healed now, but because the scars are large and ugly, I wanted to get them covered up with a tattoo. I was wondering how it works to get a tattoo on your foot--is it a bad idea? Do you have to make sure you don%26#039;t wear shoes or anything to brush up against the tattoo? Thanks.

Questions about foot and scar tattoos?
Tattoos on your feet are already painful adding scars into the mix makes it worse. Scars have much more nerve activity which makes it hurt more usually. It all depends on your pain tolerance though. You may get through it just fine. I have a tattoo on the top of my foot and I just wore sandals for the first week or 2. Once its healed its not big deal. But a tattoo is basically and opened wound. You have to try to keep it safe and not tear it open and cause scarring, in your case more scarring. I think if you like the idea of covering up your scars then go for it! Make them beautiful! Good Luck!
Reply:My friends recently got a tattoo on their feet. On the top of the foot. It is not a good spot to get tattoo considering that your feet are active parts of your body. Lots of rubbing against the tattoos wears them out. That%26#039;s exactly what happend to my friends tattoos. They got really warn out now they look like crap.
Reply:Both feet and scars can be tricky things to tattoo over, and a lot of places will not do either, however some artists will tattoo you, although it an be trickier and your design can be somewhat limited. Scars can leave tougher skin for the needle to deposit ink into, and feet in general can have a hard healing time, and over the years wearing of shoes/socks/walking can effect the tattoo, rub it off or cause it to fade or distort. However, i say go for it! I have scars that i would love to tattoo over, and if it%26#039;s what you want, then to me it wouldn%26#039;t matter if it faded, it%26#039;s still prettier then a scar, and it means more. Good luck!
