On Monday night I noticed that my left foot was swollen and felt like it had a fever. I was wondering what could I try to make the swelling and fever go away.
I know that salt can cause foot swelling. But, I don%26#039;t eat much salt. Could walking and wearing shoes that were not made for walking cause the swelling? I was wondering if the swelling could have any thing to do because of the back surgery I had twelve years ago because I was cut on my left side and my left foot is the one that is swollen.
I sure would appreciate it if someone could tell me what to try. I just don%26#039;t have time to go to the doctor. So, I would like to only go to the doctor as a last resort.
My Left Foot Is Swollen How Do I Reduce The Swelling/Fever?
Soak it in cold water for about 30 min to an hr but make sure you keep the water cold and don%26#039;t let it get to room temp. also soak it in Epsom salt also take some aprin tylenol anything over the counter to reduce swelling and did you make sure you didn%26#039;t get bit by a bug or anything and when you aren%26#039;t soaking it in water put an ice pack on it and try and wear house shoes and flip flops until the swelling goes down and if your shoes aren%26#039;t made for walking don%26#039;t wear um if you have a lot of walking to do
Reply:I%26#039;m not sure about the back surgery part, but for the swelling and fever of your foot- it sounds elementary, but soaking in ice water really helps and Epsom salt soaks work well too.
Reply:Lots of women actually have this problem. A lot of has to do with hormones and diet. Watch your sodium intake. It doesn%26#039;t nececarily have to be directly from salt but lots of pastas and soups, and fast foods have lots of sodium. And try to get a little bit more exercise if you can, and adequate amounts of sleep.
Reply:Put some bengay and vicks on it at the same time.
Reply:ice elavate and rest if that does,nt work see tha doc
Reply:This is your last resort, you could have Rheumatoid Arthoritis, as well as any number of issues, you should get your blood tested asap!!! The longer you leave things, the harder it is for a doctor to treat!!!
