My hands and feet sweat just about constantly. I've heard about 2 different procedures where:
1) They inject botox into the glands to stop the flow of sweat... the injections last for about 6 months.
and
2) They can cut the glands in the wrinkles of your wrists to prevent sweat from coming to the surface.
I've tried Drysol, which is the liquid that you dab on, but nothing works. Not even Gold Bond powder or cornstarch.
Has anyone known of someone to have one of those procedures done? And do they really work? I would love to go through my wedding without sweaty hands and would love to wear any shoes I want without having to worry about slipping and twisting my ankle.
Does anyone else have a sweating problem?
your sweating may not be treatable.it could be more simple.if u take really hot long showers it may be beneficial to gradually end your shower with acolder temperature in order to reduce your body temperature which can close your pores. hot water opens them.your body needs time to cool down.
Reply:If you haven't recently, you might want to have a basic bloodwork done. At least have your sugar tested to rule out diabetes.
Reply:Have your tried "Certain Dri", an over-the-counter roll-on? It works great for underarm perspiration and might help with your problem also.
Reply:Have you tried over the counter vitamins. Like menapause pills? Ask a physican about using the menapause pills. my mom takes them. She's 50 and sweats alot too.
Reply:I don't have this problem, but I just read an article about it in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. It's called hyperhidrosis. The subject in the article recently had surgery and is thrilled to be able to go shoe shopping. The link is below....
Reply:get checked out for diabetes.
Reply:i have that problem as well. i havent tryed any of these, but i have heard they work very well, including the botox. i wish you the best of luck with what ever you decide to try. :-)
Reply:I know somebody who has the same problem. They had it really bad and they had the surgery done. The only weird thing is that his chest and back sweat a ton and everything else is completely dry. Its not a problem or anything just a little bit weird. He said that it worked well for him and solved the problem.
Reply:if all else fails - move to arizona - i have no idea whether this will help - if it does, you might get on oprah and the arizona tourism board will hire you as a spokesperson
