I met a Dutch girl with inflatable shoes last week, phoned her up to
arrange a date but unfortunately she'd popped her clogs.
Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly; but when they lit a fire in
the craft, it sank, proving once and for all that you can't have your
kayak and heat it.
So I said "Do you want a game of Darts?" he said "OK then", I said
"Nearest to bull starts". He said "Baa", I said "Moo", he said "You're
closest".
You see I'm against hunting, in fact I'm a hunt saboteur. I go out the
night before and shoot the fox.
The other day I sent my girlfriend a huge pile of snow. I rang her up; I
said "Did you get my drift?”
So I went down the local supermarket, I said "I want to make a
complaint, this vinegar's got lumps in it"; he said "Those are pickled onions".
I saw this bloke chatting up a cheetah; I thought "he's trying to pull a
fast one".
So I said to this train driver "I want to go to Paris". He said
"Eurostar?”I said "I've been on telly but I'm no Dean Martin".
So I said to the Gym instructor "Can you teach me to do the splits?”. He
said "How flexible are you?" I said "I can't make Tuesdays".
But I'll tell you what I love doing more than anything: trying to pack
myself in a small suitcase. I can hardly contain myself.
So I met this gangster who pulls up the back of people's pants, it was
Wedgie Kray.
So I went to the Chinese restaurant and this duck came up to me with a
red rose and says "Your eyes sparkle like diamonds". I said "Waiter, I asked
for a-ROMATIC duck".
But I'm in great mood tonight because the other day I entered a
competition and I won a years supply of Marmite......... one jar.
So this bloke says to me, "Can I come in your house and talk about your
carpets?" I thought "That's all I need, a Je-oover's witness".
You see my next door neighbour worships exhaust pipes, he's a catholic
converter.
So I rang up British Telecom, I said "I want to report a nuisance
caller" he said "Not you again".
So I was having dinner with Garry Kasporov (world chess champion) and
there was a check tablecloth. It took him two hours to pass me the salt.
He said "You remind me of a pepper-pot", I said "I'll take that as a
condiment".
Now did you know all male tennis players are witches, for example
Goran, even he's a witch.
And I've got a friend who's fallen in love with two school bags, he's
bisatchel.
So I was in Tesco's and I saw this man and woman wrapped in a barcode.
said "Are you two an item?”
So a lorry-load of tortoises crashed into a train-load of terrapins, I
thought "That's a turtle disaster".
Four fonts walk into a bar the barman says "Oi - get out! We don't want
your type in here"
A jump-lead walks into a bar. The barman says "I'll serve you, but
don't start anything"
A priest, a rabbi and a vicar walk into a bar. The barman says, "Is
this some kind of joke?"
A sandwich walks into a bar. The barman says "Sorry we don't serve food
in here"
Dyslexic man walks into a bra
A seal walks into a club...
A man walks into a bar with a roll of tarmac under his arm and says:
"Pint please, and one for the road."
A three-legged dog walks into a saloon in the Old West. He slides up to
the bar and announces: "I'm looking for the man who shot my paw."
A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in
the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an
hour the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. "But why
they asked?” they moved off. "Because," he said "I can't stand chess nuts
boasting in an open foyer."
There was a man who entered a local paper's pun contest. He sent in ten
different puns, in the hope that at least one of the puns would win.
Unfortunately, no pun in ten did.
A woman has twins, and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to
a family in Egypt and is named "Amal." The other goes to a family in
Spain they name him Juan". Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to
his mum. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wished
she also had a picture of Amal. Her husband responds, "But they are twins.
If you've seen Juan, you've seen Amal."

Does anyone shoes with smell keys in them?
I used to have them when I was a kid and thought about them last night for some reason. I rememebr they had a key in them, I think it was in the soul.
Does anyone shoes with smell keys in them?
give us all some of what ur on! and there was me thinking i had chosen the "all english questions" option!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:I have no soul. But I do have a sole on my shoe. No key though.
Reply:Athough you've spelt the words to the question wrong I understand what you mean! My little sister had them, they were from Clarks, black shoes where there was a little silver key in the sole inside a clear plastic bit at the heel. And you also got a key that was either a badge or a just a small trinket, can't remb excactly.
Reply:haha, yeh i had those! when you turned the key a little picture or something changed!!
Reply:they were called magic steps and they were from clarks shoes, the keys were in the soul shaped like a key in yellow rubber and there was a picture in the heel of the princess and the scenes were different with each shoe, they were generally of the black patent variety i had loads of pairs and so did my little sister and you also got a gold key a very small one and itwas a badge wow thats a blast from the past !
Reply:I had a white pair, I begged my Mum for them for ages!!
I remember being gutted when I had had them for a while and the clear bit on the bottom got a bit scuffed :o(
I think mine had a picture of a unicorn...
Reply:Oh I used to have them!
I loved them I always wanted to take the key out oof the sole, but I was never allowed!!!1

What are some places like Sports Authority and Foot Locker that have ladies track shoes???
Track %26amp; Field starts on Monday and I need new shoes. I got my pair last year from Sports Authority and they are really worn. When I looked at the selection at Sports Authority I didn't like any of them.
What are some places like Sports Authority and Foot Locker that have ladies track shoes???
Some good shoe stores that have track shoes and running shoes are Famous Footwear, Nike Store, and the Puma Store. Another good place is Dick's Sporting Goods.

Why do my running shoes squeak?
My running shoes have started to sqeak. I got them last spring but just started wearing them a few months ago... so they don't have that many miles on them. I used to wear New Balance and Asics but switched to Nike Air because the lady at the store said it would help prevent me from running on the inside of my feet. Now my shoes squeak... Do I need a new pair or is there a solution?
Why do my running shoes squeak?
It may be the insoles that are squeaking.
Some talc powder may help.
Unless it is driving you crazy it doesn't matter or affect the performance of the shoes.
Reply:First, please take the removable insole out, put an extra pair of socks on and run a few yards. Does that help? Does the squeaking sound go away? If so, buy replacement insoles or experiment with applying vaseline (light coating) or talcum powder on the underside and edges of the insoles.
If this does not correct the problem then you must assume that an air unit has ruptured. In that case, you won't be able to fix it and the sound will not go away with time.
It is difficult for me to determine if your shoe's integrity or usefulness has been compromised. If it is a air unit problem it is probably best for you to replace it (sorry).
It is a good idea to become friendly with the staff of the running specialty store in your area (if you have one). These stores are not likely to carry shoes with known issues and have very liberal return/exchange policies.
Also, a shoe begins to age when it is made not when you start using it. It is best to buy recently manufactured shoes (not a pair of clearance shoes) and begin using them right away. The materials used in running shoes age fairly rapidly.

Ebay 10p listing Day?
My daughter was going to sell some clothes and shoes last Thursday on the ebay 10p listing day. When she read what was included it said "Car Parts and Accessories" and she took it to mean that you could only list items in this category so she decided not to sell this time.I said that it meant that she could sell in all categories as well as Car Parts. Who was correct her or me ? Did anyone list anything on ebay last Thursday that was not in Car Parts? We want to know for future 10p days.Thanks.
Ebay 10p listing Day?
Its for all category although I'm sure in terms and conditions it says you cannot list cars or automobiles. I listed all kinds last Thursday on the 10p listing day. Also don't be worried at the end of each listing it might not show as 10p (or a bit extra with additional pic in gallery) the discount is usually shown at the end in your account file. Hope this helps and good luck!
Reply:its every catogrie, cars cost a lot more to list

Suede protector sprays?
I just got some new shoes, and they're suede, I also got a protector spray, how often should I spray this? as in how long does the protector last, and how much do i spray?
thanks!
Suede protector sprays?
Before you spray make sure it is not a silicone base or it will change the color of the shoes. The first time you spray you should spray a light coat, let them sit and then spray a heavier coat. Make sure to get all seams especially between the upper and the sole as well as the tongue. How often you spray is dependent on how often you wear them. If they are your main pair, I would spray once a week especially during the winter. You can not hurt them by spraying too much (if not silicone base) and it will make them easier to clean. Hope this helps.
Reply:just spray a thin layer, try doing every other day for max protection
Reply:only a short sprey

Todd, I'm Looking for you on this?
I liked your suggestions on the last one. What do you suggest with this? (I may as well have you write them for me!)
The Good Life
A bum some call him, beard ragged and
mismatched shoes. Wearing the same clothes
for three months now, but he's not keeping
track.
He makes his home behind a bush under
the overpass of the freeway by the creek.
Nearby a cart with squeeky wheels holds
his life's only possessions - a soiled
sleeping bag and makeshift pillow which he
neatly folds and places in the cart each day.
He begins his search for treasures in every
bin he passes, carrying conversations
with nobody in particular, oblivious of
stares from passing cars on the busy city
streets. He finds a few empty beer cans and
remnants of one's lunch, its been a good day.
He shivers from the cold as the rain begins
to fall and he heads toward the comfort of
home, ending another day of asking for
nothing and receiving less.
Todd, I'm Looking for you on this?
Hi, well I know you’re being facetious but I wouldn’t want to write them for you. I just try to do light editing and suggestions to push into a direction with the words you’ve already started with. There is always a danger with a narrative that it will either be too distant, or be more of a short story. My suggestion to you is to think about your title: The Good Life (which is ironic and effective), and put your main character's mindset more into the piece. He comes off a bit delusional, so maybe move into his thoughts, and make him see it as the good life. Here's a brief example of a possible approach. The line breaks I use may not be the best right now--I'm just trying to give you a mood and a tone to work with on rewrite:
Amazing what people throw away
a man with his wits could live like a king.
What’s a bit of orange juice and cat litter
for a new jacket? Throw away
new shoes--when only the right one is bad—
wasteful. A nine is a little small, but you need
to work with ‘em you can’t give up.
Giving up is easy. Nothing worth
anything should be easy.
Something like that perhaps. Where you move to the immediate first person view.
Here is an early version of one of my poems I posted on YA where I did something similar (it is currently revised more, but I think it would still provide another example for you)

The first time I was homeless I lived out of garbage bins and did it real hard. The second time I knew more about the welfare system and it was a lot smoother transition.
The first time I was insane. Left my job with the State Railways of New South Wales (SRA of NSW). Went to Queensland. Worshiped the darkside for about a week. It lied to me and told me that I was the anti-Christ. Committed an armed robbery, attempted armmed robbery, deprevation of libberty, vagrancy and served 6 months on remand and was paroled after seving 1 year of a sentence have not been in trouble with the police since. (During that time I lived out of garbage bins.)
When I got paroled I returned to NSW I stayed with my sister, who was a prostitute at the time, and her two children.
She was going through a divorce from her first husband. She has had 3 marrages and at least one long term relationship and was a victim of petaphilia by her father.
I got work with a lift company as a lift mechanic (electrician) for a year then came to the conclusion that it would be better that my neice and nephew should not go in to the care of their father and it would be better if my sistter was no longer a prostitute. That I to should go to my final rest after taking my beloved relatives, that I was living with at the time, with me to that permanent sleep. Sought after help to not go to that extreme and ended up in Macquarie Hospital for 3 month.
Have been on the Disability Support Pension since 1990 and worked with the mentaly ill for about 20 years.
Have been a telephone counsellor (left that because I was assulted by another counsellor when I was wearing sunglasses to shade myself from the harshness of others and the crulty they can show you.) Bassicaly finished a welfare course but did not hand in the report on my final placement because I seperated and then divorced my wife who was trying to kill me because of her mental illness and she was having a relatioship with another man.
Have been a co-ordinator of a drop in and activity facility for the mentally ill; The second consumer representative to join The Ryde Mental Health Consumer network and am still active in that network to a certain degree. (The Ryde Mental Health Consumer Network was the first of it's type in Australia and all similar such network has learnt and grown from it.); A Human Imune diffiecence Virius/Acquired Imune Deffiecence Syndrom, Mental Health peer educator (HIV/AIDS/Mental Health peer educator) for more then ten years and various other paid and unpaid work in the welfare industry.
Now I sell The Big Issue at North Sydney Railway Station and various other activities to earn an income. Have been published again, for the lyrics that I wrote, for a Hymn, that is published in The Big Issue, that hit the streets on Monday the tenth of September, 2007.
The second time I was homeless I refused to be a witness to domestic violence in a shared accomodation that I was in.
There is much more to this story to this but I'll leave it at that for now. Kind regards Daniel T.

What made you want to start loosing your weight??
I recently started my healthy/fitness journey, and I have dropped 20 pounds and I am so happy, I questioned myself last night what were the real reasons why I decided to make this change. For It was.. becoming healthier, confidence, and for years I realized I never did have lingerie, I realized how bad I wanted to go and shop at those stores too, not only clothes and shoes and bags etc. This was MY motivation, and I would like to know others motivation. Please do share. =) Thanks
What made you want to start loosing your weight??
Health. Two years ago I was in the ER with symptoms like I was having a heart attack. Turns out it was anxiety, but it scared me enough to start eating a healthier diet and exercising regularly. Unfortunately, I work a very stressful job, and when my boss went on maternity leave at our busiest time and left me in charge of the office, I gained it all back and then some. It has taken me another year to get back on track. I've only lost 4 pounds in the past 3 months, but within the past 2 weeks, I've started to have the heart attack symptoms again. I have cut way back on my portions, and am doing my workout tape again. My goal is to lose another 25 pounds by August, when we go to Las Vegas, mainly because I know I'm going to be miserable in the heat out there, and being overweight will only make it worse.

I am so happy to hear you lost so much, I would like to drop 30 pounds or 35 for a healthier weight.
Not too long ago I found out I have had a long battle with mild depression and 2 episodes of double depression.
I was in total denial of all that and didn't even think about that idea.
Until one day I was thinking that the only thing I would like to do and was never able to, was to be at a healthier weight.
I do try my best to look and dress nice, i am into make up and dressing up. I alwasy wanted to be in my healthy weight. But for some odd reason this was a goal I could never reach .
So putting two and two together and long story short I realized that I was self-medicating myself with sugar, carbs and if things were really bad... any food would make it. I had real binges when things were really stressful or when I was at my worse.
It was so soothing for me to eat, but not only as an emotional eater as I thought i was.
Then i took a trip down to memory lane and I went to when i was 4 years old, 8 y/o, my tenage years, my 20's and realized how I was always kind of sad and empty!!! I always was more on the melancholic side of things for almost anything.
I saw old pictures and always saw my sad little face. It was hearbreaking to see it and specially for me that I stigmatized depressed people a lot.
I also realized how many coping mechanisms i learned to avoid being stigmatized as a DEPRESSED person ... I made many, many friends, tried to be social all the time, smiles all the time, friendly, goofy, nice all the time. And of course in the meantime kept piling up with food to be able to cope and find some happiness ....
But there is only so much i could take and i started to have some crisis, emotionally i was a wreck , so i had this moment of AWARENESS and realized I can't do this to myself anymore.
so i guess i am not trying meds right now, but i am having a wholistic approach to "treat" myself now that i know better.
I want to break the cycle by eating healthier, sleeping right, talking to a counselor, keeping close friendships, sunlight, positive thinking and excercising.
So that is how i started to finally being able to loose weight and exercise more. As part of my own "treatment therapy".

Reply:I have 3 kids and the oldest is 3 1/2 years old so as you can tell, I didn't exactly have much time between pregnancies to get the excess weight off that I had put on. So far I have lost 13.6lbs (6.2kg) and I have another 37.5lbs (17kg) to lose to get exactly where I want to be. My motivation is to be able to buy clothes and look good in them. You know how you see an outfit in a catalogue or in the shop window and it looks really good (because it's modelled on a thin person) and when you try it on you can see lumps and bumps where there shouldn’t be any?? I hate that, so I want to be able to see outfits in the catalogue and know it will look good on me because I’m not overweight. My other two big motivators are 1. I want to be a fit and healthy role model for my daughter and 2. I want to be able to buy one of those sexy outfits that you wear for your husbands eyes only and actually look and feel really sexy in it. Congratulations on you weight loss!

What is this hard callus-like spot on the side of my foot??
Last fall I noticed a spot on the outside of my foot. It is hard to the touch like a callus and when I try to go snowboarding the pressure makes it feel like someone is stabbing me with a thousand needles and it will stay tender for a while after I snowboard. If I wear big shoes/slippers around the house I barely notice it. I can notice that it makes my foot look like there is a lump on the side. This is about 1.5 inches back from the tip of my pinky toe on the widest part of the foot.
Please help, I have no idea what this is or how to get rid of it.
What is this hard callus-like spot on the side of my foot??
it could be a callus or a corn. if its yellow in color it could be a corn, if not then probably a callus. I have them as well. Try wearing well fitting shoes. if they keep bothering you. talk to your doctor.
Reply:Sounds to me like you have a Corn. Unpleasant little beggars they are too! You can buy some salicylic preparation from the pharmacy - ask for corn removal pads. Or buy corn cushions, this is a ring of felt that protects the area and stops it rubbing and causing the pain. They are treatable, can be caused by wearing shoes too tight. They can also be cut off, but see a chiropodist for this.........though lots of women have been known to dry them out with the corn removing liquid then scrape them off.........yuk! Hope yours are soon history!
Reply:Get referred to a foot doctor and have it checked out.
Reply:I suggest that you go to get a pedicure. They will help remove the callus. Also, at home, you can put a layer of vasaline on your callus BEFORE you put shoes and socks on. It will help make it softer.

Why do I have a bruise that has lasted more than a week?
I was playing flag football and got the top right side of my foot got stepped by a cleat. I was wearing normal shoes so there was no protection. It hurt really bad when it happened but there is a big bump on my foot that wont go away and a big area of bruising. Should I get X-rays?
Why do I have a bruise that has lasted more than a week?
You see, our blood contains heparin... a anti coagulant substance that is used for repair and to dissolve blod clots in our body. As you have mentioned the site of injury is on your feet and our feet is the most distal part of the body that receives blood so that is why it took more than a week for your bruise to disappear, cause it received heparin slower than other parts of your body.
you can have ur self xrayed and check whether you have dislocations on your foot.. and have the proper medical care..
hope i have answered you question..

Does anyone else have a sweating problem?
My hands and feet sweat just about constantly. I've heard about 2 different procedures where:
1) They inject botox into the glands to stop the flow of sweat... the injections last for about 6 months.
and
2) They can cut the glands in the wrinkles of your wrists to prevent sweat from coming to the surface.
I've tried Drysol, which is the liquid that you dab on, but nothing works. Not even Gold Bond powder or cornstarch.
Has anyone known of someone to have one of those procedures done? And do they really work? I would love to go through my wedding without sweaty hands and would love to wear any shoes I want without having to worry about slipping and twisting my ankle.
Does anyone else have a sweating problem?
your sweating may not be treatable.it could be more simple.if u take really hot long showers it may be beneficial to gradually end your shower with acolder temperature in order to reduce your body temperature which can close your pores. hot water opens them.your body needs time to cool down.
Reply:If you haven't recently, you might want to have a basic bloodwork done. At least have your sugar tested to rule out diabetes.
Reply:Have your tried "Certain Dri", an over-the-counter roll-on? It works great for underarm perspiration and might help with your problem also.
Reply:Have you tried over the counter vitamins. Like menapause pills? Ask a physican about using the menapause pills. my mom takes them. She's 50 and sweats alot too.
Reply:I don't have this problem, but I just read an article about it in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. It's called hyperhidrosis. The subject in the article recently had surgery and is thrilled to be able to go shoe shopping. The link is below....
Reply:get checked out for diabetes.
Reply:i have that problem as well. i havent tryed any of these, but i have heard they work very well, including the botox. i wish you the best of luck with what ever you decide to try. :-)
Reply:I know somebody who has the same problem. They had it really bad and they had the surgery done. The only weird thing is that his chest and back sweat a ton and everything else is completely dry. Its not a problem or anything just a little bit weird. He said that it worked well for him and solved the problem.
Reply:if all else fails - move to arizona - i have no idea whether this will help - if it does, you might get on oprah and the arizona tourism board will hire you as a spokesperson

Where can i find these shoes?
I got them about 3 years ago but i saw them on shelves last year. They are Dr. Scholl's Tan/Light brown flip flops. At the upper part they have a strip and toward the bottom it has a thong flip flop shape. The "strap" is right above the thong part and is about 1 inch wide. I need size 11 preferably 12. They are Double air pillow in the heel and are about 1 1/2 inches at heel and about 1/2 inch at bottom. Please tell me if you know where i can get these.
Where can i find these shoes?
have you tried Dr. Scholl's website?
Reply:try www.zappos.com. They have everything. And you can search by brand, type, color, etc. They have free shipping - its really fast. And free return shipping.

Does Any1 Know How the Short Poem goes called a "Deaf Child's Prayer"?
I read it somewhere, but don't remember where. But the last two lines went something like this:
...the only words he knew,
"a ball, a fish, a top, a shoe."
Does Any1 Know How the Short Poem goes called a "Deaf Child's Prayer"?
I found a poem on several sites called A Deaf Child's Prayer, but it didn't have your text in it.
A Deaf Child's Prayer
Do the angels sing in Heaven, Lord?
Will I hear music there?
Or must I stand in a corner
While others join in prayer?
While I wonder what they're saying Lord,
As oft I do down here?
Must I sit in lonely stillness
While the bells ring loud and clear?
Can I read your lips in Heaven,
Lord Will I be brushed aside,
And stick my hands in pockets
Because of wounded pride?
Will all the saints there praise thee,
While I in silence wait?
Will some one up in Heaven
Help me through the gate?
Then God, who loves the humble,
Whispered in the poor deaf ear
My child, has no one told you,
There is no silence here.
Hold out your hands, my little one,
For Heaven all to see.
We've heard them pray so many times,
Each prayer reached up to Me.
See, all the angels waiting.
The gates are open wide.
Your crown of life awaits you,
And I shall be your guide.
I have a song to give you,
You'll sing both loud and clear.
And the song you sing, my dear one,
Will be the sweetest song up here.

Or must I stand in a corner
While others join in prayer?
While I wonder what they're saying Lord,
As oft I do down here?
Must I sit in lonely stillness
While the bells ring loud and clear?
Can I read your lips in Heaven,
Lord Will I be brushed aside,
And stick my hands in pockets
Because of wounded pride?
Will all the saints there praise thee,
While I in silence wait?
Will some one up in Heaven
Help me through the gate?
Then God, who loves the humble,
Whispered in the poor deaf ear
My child, has no one told you,
There is no silence here.
Hold out your hands, my little one,
For Heaven all to see.
We've heard them pray so many times,
Each prayer reached up to Me.
See, all the angels waiting.
The gates are open wide.
Your crown of life awaits you,
And I shall be your guide.
I have a song to give you,
You'll sing both loud and clear.
And the song you sing, my dear one,
Will be the sweetest song up here.

Bernie no longer a Yankee?!?
who else thinks cashman is making a huge mistake? sure hes older now but why not let him retire a Yankee?? he did fill some big shoes last year off the bench and hes what I would consider a major role in all their world series wins since 96..
opinions??
Bernie no longer a Yankee?!?
I agree. Bernie Williams has given his best to the organization. He should retire as a Yankee. I agree that he played huge roles in the Yankees four World Series Championships from 1996-2000. It is a mistake. They should let Bernie retire as a Yankee.
Reply:Baseball is WAY too much a business now. Every roster spot needs to be filled with a person who fills a certain role, and a BU outfielder at Bernie's age, with a good but declining bat, and losing the athleticism to effectively patrol the outfield is not a smart business decision. That's the bottom line. If you put him in the minor leagues and he does well, then in September when the Roster expands, you can bring him up then. That's what they were hoping for, I am sure. But Bernie does deserve respect. He is an asset.
Reply:Barry may not be a great player still, but he brings a certain attitude to the team which makes him almost necesary for the Yankees to keep
Reply:I agree.Bernie should still be a Yankee I think he's got another year left in him.
Reply:hes got a 50-50 chance
Reply:bernie said no to a minor league contract. didn't mean he wouldn't make the team. who cares? yankees suck anyway, GO MARLINS
Reply:Bernie has to earn his spot on the team just like anyone else. Why sign someone just for nostalgic reasons when you may have someone better that gets cut? If he wants to retire as a Yankee then he just needs to retire now.
Reply:i like yankee team
Reply:I agree with you....Bernie has been a major part of the Yankees world series run....He needs to retire as a yankee. He was better than a lot of people expected last year filling in for Matsui and Sheffield. I think they need to show him a little more respect and make him the back up outfielder v. Melky. Don't get me wrong...I like melky but they should let Bernie take the field before Melky esp in post season where bernie has just a little more experience.

How much is too much? "for shoes"?
I have to confess that ever since last year I've had a healthy appetite for fancy shoes (the 06 fall collection of mens D.Squared2). I think I've racked up a nice $1000 and so bill in shoes in about 5 pairs(Jordan XX's, Ecco, L.A.M.B royalelastic, D.Squared2, COACH). How much would you limit yourself for traveling in style and comfort? I've been monitor shoppin for this one pair of gucc, luckily I cant find them anymore anywhere, but I ran into this other pair, and also I really need at least a pair for a trip I'm taking out east, something in the Puma or royalelastic line.

Shin Splints-i need any thoughts on stretches and exercises to ease my shin splints.?
I have recently started running again since last spring and some how I have aquired shin splints. It could be that my shoes are too small or I just havn't been running for a while. The thing is that this has never happened before and i want to stop the splints before it becomes a daily problem. (this only occurs while running) -Thanks
Shin Splints-i need any thoughts on stretches and exercises to ease my shin splints.?
-stretch your calves well before and after running
-ice after running- it helps... either use bags of ice for 20 min, an ice-cup for 10 min/ until numb, or put legs in a bucket of ice %26amp; water for 10 min.
-get new shoes. shin splints are common when shoes wear out.
-don't increase your mileage too quickly or your shins will be aggravated even more.
exercises:
-write the alphabet with your toes/feet (exaggerate the movement)
-walk only on your heels (holding toes up above ground) for about 100m
-walk on toes for 100m
-"smart walk" 100m - land on heel, roll up to toe and pop/ push off, repeat.
-while sitting in a chair, put a towel on the ground in front of you. put one foot flat on the ground so that heel is off the towel and ball of foot is on the towel. push foot into towel and scrape against floor to the right scrunch the towel to the right using your foot. repeat to the left and with other foot.
-pick up small objects (marbles, etc) off the ground using toes.
-sit on the floor/ bed/ whatever. put a weight on your foot. keep legs straight in front of you. point toes, then pull tips (w/ weight) back to a flexing position. repeat
Good luck, I hope this helps!
Reply:wat you need to do is stand there and keep your heel on the ground and rise your toes so your like tapping you foot and keep doing that cuz i had those and then my soccer couch had me do that so i could bulid that mucle and now i don't have shin splints when i run cross country
Reply:i have the same problem, it may be your shoes, but try arch supports if those don't help then your shoes are probably worn out ... use ice cubes and run them up and down your shins, take an anti-inflammatory (such as alieve), and do toe raises ... there are different types of shin splints too, go to www.runnersworld.com it has lots of information about it and explains it more
Reply:Its probably because of the shoes and the fact that you picked up the running again, I do light stretches focusing on the calf's and then I take about 12-15 minutes to warm up jogging at 3.5 to about a 4.5 once I'm warmed up I'm ready to go. Another thing that has helped me is working out my legs with a moderate to heavy weight lifting routine, calf raises, leg extensions etc. I don't know what the science is but it seems to have helped me not only with the splints but with endurance as well.
build up slowly, don't go to far to fast to soon.
Reply:My mom advised me to do calf raises. You stand on your tip toes and push up and down. After 15 reps, you change the angles of your feet then do 15 mores. Also be sure to stretch.

What can I get for $150 for back to school shopping??
I need jeans, tees, awesome shoes, makeup, and jewelry. I didn't have a good rep last year, and i want to make a BIG immpression.
What can I get for $150 for back to school shopping??
$150 isn't alot, to be honest.
Anyways, here are a few suggestions as to what you should get for this school year. I think you shouldn't spend it all at once because you might see something you like later on so who knows?
Shop at Forever 21 because they have really cute tops and are cheap as well. Get about 4 or 5 cute tops, 4 tank tops to mix and match, 2 skirts, 4 pairs of jeans, ect...Check out Target, Ross, Walmart, Mervyns as well.
As for jewelry, get some at Claires. I absolutely love earrings so you might want to buy a few pairs there. There are some cute ones at Forever 21 and Mervyns, too.
You should get makeup at a drugstore or Walmart because they're absolutely cheap there. Get some nice mascara like Max Factor 2000 Calories, foundation from Cover Girl or Almay, eyeliner from Revlon, and some lip gloss from Maybelline. Those are the basics that you want to get. If you have great skin, skip foundation.
There are also other things you might want to consider like getting a backpack or tote, some cleansers/moisturizers, school supplies, ect...
Be friendly and confident and people will see you in a different way.
Hope that was helpful!
Reply:Buy the clothes that you like. $150 is not going to get you very far. Go to the outlett malls and shop on the clearance racks. Buy a few high priced items that will blend into your wardrobe.. Good luck!
Reply:ok buy jeans and tees from A%26amp;F or if you want cheaper then at hollister buy makeup from clair's (its not expensive and its really cute!!) buy jewlery from clairs too or urban outfitters!
have a smile on your face and be nice to everyone!!!! %26lt;3
hope i hepled!
Reply:if you need tees, jeans, awesome shoes, makeup, and jewelry, why dont you go buy some with your $150
DUH
Reply:Look For BACK TO SCHOOL SALES!!! Also style can be cheap, I want to look good too, try funky and in style mini dresses, earrings, Tank Tops, and cut off's!!

Reply:well ae has nice things on clearence. I think you can get a few shirts and jans and some cute flats off that.

also abercrombie kids if you can fit into it. It's cheaper than A%26amp;F.
http://www.ae.com/web/browse/hp_clearanc...
try Old navy too.
Go to payless for shoes.
Wear those and you'll look great!!
:)
Reply:If you know what you need then you should looks for sales that way you get more for your $.
Reply:welll you need more money!
Reply:your probobly going to need more money for anything these days, but if your only allowed 150 then just search the sales racks at like Hollister or Abercrombie.also try American Eagle.but if thats not really any of your style then theres always Sears.
Reply:a handbag.
maybe.
Reply:it depends where you shop.
150 won't get you too far. Better start checking out Ross, Target, and Wal-Mart.
Reply:People start at the top when they look at you, so get some flattering Ts, [ in colors that look good on you, not just 'hot' colors ] and a new bag, first.
Makeup and jewelry can be collected little by little, with allowance or baby sitting money.
Ask Mom or Dad if they can spring for two pairs of jeans - buy ones that flatter YOUR shape, not just 'hot' ones.
Shoes come last - maybe your feet grew?
Reply:OMG The only way youll make everyone brake their necks to see what you are wearing is by becoming a famous celeb or going to school naked on the first day. Just buy clothes from ross marshalls, or go to cleareance racks at the mall. Or forever 21. they have some cute and cheap clothes there that you can find. But unless you had a really bad rep where everyone knew who you were, and made fun of you things cool have cooled off by then, then youll be fine. in high school things blow over really quick trust me

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/hp_clearanc...
try Old navy too.
But unless you had a really bad rep where everyone knew who you were, and made fun of you things cool have cooled off by then, then youll be fine. in high school things blow over really quick trust me
tanning
Tan?????!!!!?
i wore these shoes last week and they left a horrible tan on my feet its like a thick line going across my foot does anyone know what i can do to make it disappear or cover it up..make up doesnt work
Tan?????!!!!?
If your that worried about it, buy some instant tanning foam or lotion, and only apply it to that area, it should remedy the situation...
Reply:Use a self-tanning lotion to tan the pale part of your foot.
Reply:wash your feet with dawn and lemon juice
Reply:Don't wear those shoes again in the sun and let the tan line fade away. It will fade quickly,it's nothing to worry about.
Reply:nobody stares at your feet.......

Car thieves:
Don't be discouraged when nothing is on view.
All the valuables may be hidden in the glove box or under a seat.

Instead of attempting suicide as a 'cry for help',simply shout 'Help!' thus saving money on paracetamol, etc.

Baby shoes necessary?
Is it necessary to buy special walking shoes for a baby that is just learning to walk? If so, where can I buy a good pair? I recently bought my son regular shoes. The soles are bendable but they are rubber soled. His last shoes were slipper type shoes that had no rubber soles but he grew out of them. Should he not have rubber soled shoes? He is 13 months old and is just starting to walk. Any suggestions would be great.
THANKS!
Baby shoes necessary?
For optimal foot development, barefoot is best. Since this is not always feasible, especially in wintertime, the next best thing is a soft-soled, flexible slipper (like Robeez).
The special "walking shoes" are not only not necessary, they can prevent your baby's foot and leg muscles from developing as fast as they would if he were barefoot.
Reply:it is advisible not to put shoes on a toddler until they have been walking for a round 4 weeks. Let him get used to walking and then try him with "soft" shoes
Reply:All of my nieces and nephews wore Robeez when they first started walking, and all of them are just fine. I plan on using them for my own son when he starts to walk as well. They are good enough--a wee bit on the pricey side--but soft and flexible and at least some covering on baby feet--especially if they are walking outside.
Reply:BARE FOOT IS GOOD .WHEN YOU R LOOKING FOR GOOD SHOES STRIDE RITE IS THE PLACE I HAVE TAKEN ALL 6 OF MY CHILDREN TOO.
Reply:Socks, bare feet or the leather slippers with no soles are best at first. Then get thee to a stride rite store. They should properly measure his feet and offer you a small selection of first walker shoes. Spend the time and money on going to a professional for the first few years, at least. Except for the deck shoes that they wear for 20 minutes at the pool, I always have my kids' feet measured and buy a quality brand. The cheap stuff you can buy to match every outfit is not worth it.
Reply:Yes they are important. If your in England, go to Clarks and they know alot about kids shoes, or try Mothercare or Adams.
Reply:The less shoes the better with little ones. Soft sided ones if you must. They'll learn to walk better and faster without any. After all we didn't evolve with Nike's on did we? Constant shoe wearing by infants can lead to feet problems later on due to the restrictive nature of them.
Reply:O wouldn't buy him shoes. Just let is feet develop naturaly for the walking. Poeple aren't meant to be born with shoes on so the walking is best without. You can buy him those soft fabric sloed shoes. They keep his feet warm and won't cut the blood stream from his feet.
Reply:My daughter's not up to walking yet, but I've heard that babies should not wear shoes until they have been walking for at least a few weeks. Apparently it is better for their walking technique and developing feet to remain in bare feet (or socks in cold weather) while learning to walk.
Reply:my nephew wore regular shoes, the rubber grip helps them with traction, i think the shoes you bought will be just fine

What Is the Most tearjerker Movie You have seen?
for me is used to be Titanic and a few others. last night I saw "the Christmas shoes" and man that is one for tears. if you have not seen it please do so. really makes you stop and think
What Is the Most tearjerker Movie You have seen?
Umm there are too many to name ma. My most recent one is the end of Harry Potter #4 Goblet of Fire. I know you really aren't into that though. It's when his friend Cedric is murdered right in front of him. I know you are a strong Christian and may not like the whole Harry Potter thing because it has to do with magic. But there are alot of "magic" based religions that don't like Harry either because it is "fake" to true magic according to their practices.
Harry Potter series is about imagination period.
I encourage you to keep an open mind. HALF BLOOD/ MUDBLOOD is like RACISM. And I know your stand on that.
And ppppppfffffffffffffffffffffffftttttttttt... do not give me best answer for this answer because some jerk will precive this as a couple of people whom have gotten to know eachother on here and accuse us of point gaiming. etc. etc.

How to reunite a teenager with his memory...?
Today it was his shoes and german homework... yesterday a new coat and an oyster card... last week several items including english text books, smart card, locker key, blazer, ties, sports kit.. it goes on. All lost, mislaid, left somewhere. Any practical tips for reuniting a 13 year old boy with his memory... Don't bother with suggested punishments, sanctions, financial penalties, star charts etc. Help needed before he bankrupts me.
How to reunite a teenager with his memory...?
You can understand it of course if he'd lost his locker key and had nowhere to stow his stuff. The key is the key if you see what I mean. You've got to think constructively. If it's firmly attached to his backpack bag on an indestructible chain, it's a start, as long as he doesn't lose the bag.
It's my guess it's mostly hormonal and completely beyond his control. Like menopausal women and everyone's understanding when they're forgetful.
I resorted to buying all my son's gear from the school second hand clothing shop, charity shops and a bulk lot from a small fifth form leaver. Then I wasn't so bothered about the losses.
I insisted on dropping and picking him up from school while he was in this phase which got around the oyster card and leaving kit on public transport probs. It's a pain sitting in traffic for half an hour or whatever but at least you'll know he'll arrive fully equipped. At school end, you do a quick inventory and he can go back in to collect anything that's missing before it's disappeared by the cleaners.
I thought the phase would pass and it did. Things got far worse after that! Enjoy your son while you can before he moves into the pulling doors off hinges and trying to sleep out all night in the park drinking cider with unsuitable friends phase.
Reply:are you sure he isn't being bullied and the bullies are stealing these items?
i'm sorry if i'm wrong
Reply:first of all check that he's not being bullied............and if all is ok it seems as though your boy has a touch of genious in him, loses things, bumps into things........
i would really worry if this carries on until late in his school life....
Reply:No more dope?

Find out if being bullied into handing over stuff
Reply:You're right none of those things will work if you're stupid enough to keep replacing what he looses. I'd say it's past time to let him reap the consequence of what he does. If it's lost it stays lost til he finds it or replaces it himself! Period! He'll stay a baby if you keep treating him like one! Who runs around for you and fixes everything you mess up???
Reply:No help here. I've lost most everything at one time or another. As the saying goes, I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached to my shoulders! If he's as bad as you say, he might have a mild case of ADD. A check-up might be in order.
Reply:MY brother was constantly leaving his stuff at school, soccer practice, the bus, etc. My parents decided that he would have to make a list of everything he was taking to and from school. There was a seperate page for items he lost or left behind. He would have to include a contact number next to the items he left behind so my parents could call and arrange for a pick-up time. We also made sure to write his name, and our home phone number on all of his sweatshirts, jackets, and sports equipment. This helped him be more responsible-I hope it will also help you out.
Reply:Actually, the financial penalties would serve both purposes here. He might "remember" better if he had to fork over the cash for replacements-at least for those things that can be replaced, and it would keep you from going bankrupt!
Since you didn't want that as an answer though, and you excluded so many other things, I don't know what else is left. I'd say don't let him go anywhere until he finds his stuff, but that's a punishment. Your inclusion of star charts makes me laugh. He's 13, you shouldn't need to babysit him for his stuff, he should do it on his own, we know that. Does simply not replacing what he "lost" count as a sanction? Seems to me if he can't find his sports equipment, he can't play sports. Responsibility for his possessions is the key.
Reply:i am 15 n i have the same problem its not a wrong thing its just that he could be under a lot of stress or he has something on his mind. try sitting him down and talkin to him its the best thing to do i promiss you.good luck
Reply:test him for drugs. if thats not the issue then get him into playing an instrument that will help with memory.
Reply:Not much you can do-he's a typical teenager!!Our daughter was like that, and our brothers, infact my brother still manages to lose his keys, phone etc and he's in his 30's! The best thing we found was to put his name in EVERYTHING he owns and hope things manage to find their way back to him. Punishments etc are a waste of time,he's not doing it deliberately,it's a hormonal thing that they all suffer to some degree (some worse than others!).Our Daughter has come home minus her school sweater, socks, books, bag etc...i'm afraid they don't grow out of it for another few years so label his stuff.
Reply:Is it that he is truly forgetful or does he not care enough to remember?
If he just forgets things: get him a checklist...bring it to school, post it in his locker or bedroom, somewhere he can see it and remember to grab everything that he needs!
If he doesn't care enough... Leave his stuff lost...don't replace it for him, make him do chores to earn the money to replace it!

Am I a bad mother to my kitty? I have been on this Q and A thing for the past couple of hours and I thought?
that my white Nike shoe was her and I've been saying stuff to it like-hi baby...I'm not ignoring you...and when I finally just asked her if she was ready for supper I noticed that IT WAS MY shoe! I feel so bad because she was actually sittn' there and staring at me from the other side of the room-I feel like I am neglecting them so this will be my last "Q" for the day...am I a bad "fuzzy baby" mommy or do cats really not give a crap as long as you love 'em up and feed them?

That is funny. I have done something similar before...felt like an idiot when I realised it was a stuffed animal! Your cat probably doesn't even know what was going on.
Reply:I think cats really don't care if you don't pay attention to them...unless they're hungry, AND its actually when they want attention on their terms, that it really matters.
Reply:I can be reciting the news and my cats are happy. They love it when we talk to them, even if we aren't looking at them. Just keep talking to her, she'll be fine.

Reply:Thats AMAZING! I don't think I would admit to being the "mother" of a kitten. Who was the father?
Reply:you're not a bad kitty mom...you were just a little confused...maybe you're cat was a little jealous of the shoe!
Reply:As long as you talk to them spend "some" time with them and feed them they will be fine juz dont neglect it entirely , it will start destroying things or pissing all over. No your not a bad "fuzzy baby mommy" you cared enought to wonder if you were neglecting and shows that you care!!!!
Reply:Don't worry, cats are independent and don't need constant attention
Reply:so so bad
Reply:Your cat probably doesn't know what you're saying. She's fine. She still loves you!! Have a nice day! :)
Reply:it's ok don't worry about it, I'm sure she didn't know or care, just pay attention to her tonight and play with her.
Reply:the kitten now is quivering because she has a nuts owner, do something to restore her confidence in you and show you are stable and do not talk to shoes.
Reply:no don't worry they like to play alot as kittens , your not a bad mama , it just takes time for your baby to adjust to its new surroundings,, and give it time everything will fall into place , and your baby will love you for ever, like my 2 year old male cat oh the love of my life he knows it , my hubby and kids get jealous, but who cares right.....

What to wear under a white or black button up?
Your second link does'nt work dear. But I would go with a dark button down for a night out on the town. I think the jeans with nice shoes is a great idea.
Reply:Go with a nice plain white tee.
Reply:the black button seems more fun, and since it has the ruffles i seriously think if you were it with something under may look too BUSY...its an attractive shirt already, so just go with a simple wife beater...the white one not so much, it looks boring
Reply:I say for the white one for a nice look just do like a regular t-shirt , plain white, one with the tag all just melted onto the shirt.
The black one would look hot with like a red or a blue underneath. Id see you and Id be like
"Wheww...look at that intense but suttel accent to that black shirt, I should show him my....."
But I agree with homefry that said the white one is boring. It is, but for a nice dress shoe night out you dont want to stand out too much.
That's it.....ROCK!!

Don't try to interpret something like this so literally. If you are single, Tom Cruise probably represents simply a manifestation of your ideal "dream guy" -- heck, I'm MARRIED and he represents MINE! If you are lonely, this repeated dreaming of him simply indicates that searching desire you have to find this ideal. The Colorado and money images may simply represent your own restlessness and need to move on from where you are (are you in a rut?) and the desire to improve your financial situation.
As to being psychic, etc., I'm not going to say -- I've had too many dreams of mine come true, myself. Including my marriage to my present husband! Just learn what can be taken literally and what can't. Since the odds of dear old Tom really talking to you are slim -- I'd go with a more intuitive interpretation of this one.
Reply:ur not psycic ur crazy as hell and ur obsessed with tom cruise....get a life...
Reply:Hi Colorado
Anyone with a little imagination could interpret your dreams for you, but their answer, no matter how interesting, wouldn't be true.
Here's why:
The purpose of dreams, as far as we understand them, is to process the vast amount of information that comes in through your senses each day whilst you're awake.
On this basis the "meaning" of your dreams is simply that you are making sense of information which previously didn't have a "meaning", for you, because it hadn't been processed so as to fit into your mental maps of the world (all your existing beliefs, ideas, values, etc.).
Given what seems to be going on, it's not really surprising that lots of things appear in your dreams that have nothing to do with what has been happening in your life just before the dream occurs. Things can appear in your dreams that have been part of your memories as far back as you started forming memories - or anytime in between then and now.
Nor do the things in your dreams have to be obviously related to each other. Like I said, dreaming is a process of finding/making meaning, and the brain can draw from anywhere in its huge store of memories in order to carry out that process.
By the way, there is nothing random about this process, but your subconscious mind can come up with connections that your conscious mind would never dream of (!), which is why dreams often seem pretty weird.
So when, if ever, you happen to notice yourself having what seems like a weird dream in future you can literally rest assured that everything is OK. Your brain is actually doing, with great skill, one of the jobs it was designed to do
Reply:First of all, you are not psychic. There's no such thing. Second of all, the dream could mean any number of things. From a cognitive perspective, you may have heard about Tom Cruise, Aspen, Colorado, and a large sum of money all in the same day. From a psychoanalytic perspective, repeated dreams about Tom Cruise mean you have some form of fixation. Whatever it is, I can guarantee it's not a premonition.
Reply:All though Tom Cruise, contrary to popular belief, is a very smart individual, He is not, probably, going to have the ability to come to you in your dreams...With that said, I believe you should look into your own past and revisit any issues or possibly any past on relatives who may have some outstanding allowances comeing to you from their wills and/or estates... Good Luck to you...

British Airways lost my luggage 2 months ago and now I'm getting the run-around. What can I do now?
I flew from Cyprus to Newark via London on British Airways last December during the fog fiasco. BA initially had both of my suitcases lost, but a month later recovered one. The other is still missing. I have called the baggage service hotline but its all automated and totally useless, same for the Newark baggage service number I demanded upon arrival. There is no information on the website about what to do about lost baggage other than to call the hotline or "file a claim at the nearest BA office."
What do I do now? About a month ago once they realized it was lost, a woman at Newark baggage services told me she would mail me a "survey" to complete to show all the items that were in the lost suitcase but it never came. I was coming back from a 5 month study-abroad so I lost ALL of my clothes, iPod, shoes, DVDs and other electronic equipment. This is so frustrating!

FOR LOST LUGGAGE:
If the airline actually loses your bags, make sure you get a written claim for damages. This may require a different form than the original "missing luggage" form. This can be done at the airport or by mail.
For international flights, the limit is $9.07 per pound (or $20 per kilogram) for checked baggage, and $400 per person for carry-ons. You may need to produce receipts. If you have them, include copies in any documentation you send to the airline. You can purchase "excess valuation" protection if your checked baggage is worth more than these limits.
If all else fails be sure to file a complaint immediately. If you still can't get satisfaction, or feel the need to report the airline, write or call:

Washington D.C., 20590
Telephone: (202) 366-4000.

Good luck and I hope you get the resolution that you are wanting!
Reply:get an inventory of all your lost items
read up on passenger rights and the warsaw convention
keep all correspendence and notes of telephone calls
seek legal advice and let BA know you are doing so
Reply:Send them a bill for the lost items (double the value). I have seen bags appear immediately.
I think they might have a standard amount they pay per lost bag unless you declare the value to be higher.
Reply:I can't believe the last three answers. I was in Heathrow during the same fog and British Airways lost my and my wife's luggage. In addition, they refused to take us to our paid destination of Rome, Italy during the Christmas holiday.
Forget about waiting for them to call you or help find your baggage. They are doing it on purpose. Search the web and you will see that they have had issues with their labor union and did not have any staff to process our bags before the storm. They lost 10,000 bags before the storm ever arrived.
We tried calling and going through all their hoops. That ended last month when we filed two small claims lawsuits totaling $9500.00 in La County. Guess what? British Airways finally called us after two months of waiting, two days before the trial. The problem is, when I said I just want my bags and not any money, they made no effort to look for them even at this late stage. We are in court Monday, March 5, 2007.
I suggest you spend the $25.00 filing fee and file a suit in the county where you boarded the airline. All you do is find out the name of the serving agent for British Airways in your area. They are there to receive the summons and required to do so when any US citizen travels via a foreign tour or transportation agency.
As far as what they claim they are responsible for, remember it is no different then the coat girl's sign that says "we are not responsible for items left here". Truth be told, when you file suit, they are fully responsible for whatever the judge thinks is fare. They only called us today so that British Airways can claim that they tried to resolve this matter out of court. What the airline claims is their responsibility are only guidlines mandated by the EU due to their repeated mistreatment of travelers and their personal belongings. You are entitled to whatever British Airways actually cost you in lost luggage, lost hotels, added travel expenses and everything else. Our loss claim of $9500.00 (not the exact number in the claim) is accurate to the penny and fully documented.

Reply:Your best bet is to claim off of your insurance if you want companesation. They can take it up with British Airways if they want.
If you want British Airways to make more effort on locating your bags ( which are possibly gone for ever ), escalate your enquiry by phone to someone who shows genuine interest in your matter. First a supervisor, then a manager and make sure you deal with them personally - speak to them by name - this makes a difference.
You can get the number by ringing reservations or going to a BA office.
Once you are satisfied that all has been done , then i guess it's genuinely an insurance job. Airlines do have an obligation to pay you compensation for lost luggage as set out in their terms and conditions, but they do limit their liability
