Reply:Two years ago, the day before Thanksgiving, I slipped and fell and sprained my ankle. I don%26#039;t remember what shoes I was wearing. But I had people coming over for TG and I had to clean the house, and make the turkey and potatoes and have everything ready. And I did it all on my own. This guy still holding a grudge against me because i accidently step on his new shoes last year?
It was mid after noon back in september of 2007 when i was heading home from work i took the elevator to get to my 13 floor apartment the elevator got full very quickly and there was a man behind me.The people rushing in the elevator accidentally push me back to where the man was standing behind me then i accidentally step on his shoes when i was accidentally pushed. that man was talking all(ghetto) like saying (u must be whiling and u must be bugging me and saying let me calm down). I some how new he wanted to hurt me but meaning he knows me from the neighborhood he cant lay a hand on me because he seen me fight a fat men who was taller and bigger then me who tried to hurt my sister and the guy was just talking crap and trying to provoke me but then i let him talk all the crap he wanted to say and just got to my floor and went on home all mad. The thing is that i didnt want to fight because he was on some kind of gang i too have people the help me with that but they are not from gang
This guy still holding a grudge against me because i accidently step on his new shoes last year?
Maybe he just used the stepping on shoes excuse because he wanted to show you that he can fight and win even though you fought the big guy who bothered your sister. However, stay away from this. You don%26#039;t need to get into that situation. First you will fight him and then someone else will come along and want to fight you and your whole life will be one fight after the other.
Reply:Sounds to me like he was already having a bad day and was looking for someone to take it out on.Tell him to get over it.It was an accident.

Why does all our money just disappear?
Each month we are left further and further in debt. I don%26#039;t go out, don%26#039;t visit hairdressers, haven%26#039;t bought new shoes in 4 years, buy only cheap clothes, plan meals and shop off lists, take family out at payday and maybe buy 2 take away meals a month and yet we are still in the red and this month particularly-I had to borrow from my kid to just survive until pay day in 10 days!!! Is life trying to wring every last bit of hope and happiness out of me?? I do loads of voluntary work-I%26#039;ve spent all day looking for a part time job today with no luck-and I feel like my chest is about to burst with anger! I%26#039;m a good person who is devoted to family and friends -I%26#039;m normally strong and self reliant but not today. I don%26#039;t want a loan or credit card-they make you go into more debt-does this happen to you all the time? We got rid of them. How can I turn this around so we aren%26#039;t scraping pennies together each month? What MORE can I do?? We don%26#039;t qualify for any benefits,don%26#039;t want them either!
Why does all our money just disappear?
Write a budget. List ALL your monthly outgoings - mortgage, car, fuel elec, phone, sky etc. Try really hard to make sure you get everything, then add on £50 per month to cover unexpected bills and add it all up.
Next, write down your monthly income next to your total monthly outgoings and compare the two. If your income is less than your spending, review immediately - do you NEED sky? Do you NEED a mobile? The chances are, however, that your income is more than your outgoings and you just don%26#039;t realise how much is being wasted each month!
Don%26#039;t use credit or debit cards - withdraw a fixed amount of CASH at the start of each month for food, clothes etc. It will
be a lot easier to control spending if it%26#039;s £10 notes - when it%26#039;s gone, it%26#039;s gone!
Be prepared for some harsh truths - you may well find your partner has a spending habit you didn%26#039;t know about - hence the situation.
As for benefits, there%26#039;s no problem with checking out - you pay taxes dont you? try entitledto.com Also, dont want to appear rude but ANYTHING pays better than unpaid voulantary work - even Asda / Tesco etc. I know it%26#039;s no fun, but it%26#039;s money.

Don%26#039;t shop at Tesco etc. They have raised prices heavily over te last few years (typically rhubarb last year was £1.75, this year £2.99, but I bought at local market for £1.50). They offer you so much extra choice you are tempted! Try Aldi (our preferred) Lidl and or Netto. Much better prices, quality generally as good. Also because there is less choice you buy less!!!!! and then realise you didn%26#039;t need the things you used to buy before anyway! All of them also sell lots of household products at rock bottom prices, we have had loads and they are 99% as good quality as %26quot;branded%26quot; products. you have to shop differently, buy when they have for the future as they only sell spot lines which change every week!
Try eBay for the next things you want, you can get just about anything at much cheaper prices than the shops.

Look for a better paid job. It may take a while, but there is always something better out there.
Downsize your home. If you rent, you might want to move to a less desirable area to free up some money. It might only be temporary. If you own, you can free up some money by downsizing. You can then use the money to start trading part time. Even selling t-shirts in a market can bring in extra cash.

Why do people see going barefoot as disrespectful?
My girlfriend and I went to a meeting with her parole officer last week (she was recently released from prison) and we both turned up barefoot.
The parole officer gave us both a lecture about showing respect and wearing shoes, especially since we have both spent time in prison and need to conform.
We couldn%26#039;t see what the problem was as we are free people having served our time and should be able to dress as we choose.
We didn%26#039;t go barefoot to be disrespectful and wonder why people see it that way.
Why do people see going barefoot as disrespectful?
Let me ask you this question:
Would you go barefoot to an interview? How about church? A wedding?
It%26#039;s very difficult to explain respect, but you%26#039;re expected to dress nicely whenever you attend something dealing with The Court, Church, Weddings, or Formal Events, such as a Dinner Pary or Graduation Ceremony.
Would your boss think highly of you for showing up for work without shoes on?
I hope I was able to help, and good luck with the parole!

I don%26#039;t think wearing shoes is a %26quot;sign of respect%26quot;! In most Asian countries you%26#039;re required to REMOVE your shoes whenever you%26#039;re entering a house. Same applies to Buddhist and Hindu-temples, mosques... And people who think it%26#039;s disrespectful to attend church barefoot should remember what the Lord says to Moses in Exo 3:5!
I%26#039;m ALWAYS barefoot myself, which isn%26#039;t a big deal anyway as I%26#039;m living in India. Don%26#039;t let people fool you: Walking barefoot is respectful and gentle, environment-friendly and good for your health!

You don%26#039;t know what diseases are on the ground or what you can step on and really hurt yourself. I hope you didn%26#039;t drive. It most areas its illegal to drive barefoot.
Reply:what he should have told you is he does not want to be liable if you get injured without your shoes. i like being barefoot at home but not out in the street getting injured because of lack of shoes is not a myth in fact its very common i can%26#039;t tell you how many times I%26#039;ve gotten glass up my foot for not wearing shoes. you could get tapeworm, hookworm and a number of other parasites. those things don%26#039;t only happen to kids in South America. the streets are not clean nor laced with gold. but its your feet your life do you man.

If you decide to go barefoot what the hell business is it of theirs unless you are at church, etc. Unless you have wicked rotten foot odor or some other issue not mentioned, I don%26#039;t see the problem. People go barefoot or in sandals all the time.
Reply:Actually I do go barefoot to church, to weddings and funerals, and I%26#039;ve gone barefoot to two job interviews and got the job both times.
The problem is that too many people confuse anything outside the social norm with a lack of respect. That%26#039;s unfortunate; differences in appearance and dress make life more interesting. Imagine we%26#039;d all be wearing the same thing, that%26#039;d be terribly boring! And bare feet in particular can also be a sign of *respect*; it%26#039;s a gentle, quiet, natural way of walking, doesn%26#039;t make noise like clicking heels, slapping flipflops or stomping boots, does less harm to plants when walking outdoors... The concerns of injury, disease, etc are based on myths and exaggerated fears rather than fact, and I find the gentle barefoot step far more respectful than the careless, unfeeling step of a thick-soled boot.
Injury is extremely unlikely; I%26#039;ve gone barefoot for over ten years, never divert my step no matter how much glass I see, frequent train stations full of litter at a run (I%26#039;m not a morning person so I%26#039;m often just barely in time to catch my train) and I have NEVER had a cut, get a tiny splinter maybe once a year but never had even the slightest splinter indoors. On the other hand I have tripped over loose shoe laces and slipped in leather-soled pumps, back when I still wore footwear... Maybe people are concerned about injury but they base their fears on myths and not on facts, going barefoot is not dangerous and I%26#039;d even argue it was *less* dangerous than footwear like slick-soled dress shoes, high heels and platform shoes.
And you WON%26#039;T get tapeworm or hookworm; tapeworm can only spread by ingestion, so unless you lick your feet or put your feet up on the dinner table there%26#039;s absolutely zero risk. Hookworm can spread through the skin but has been pretty much eradicated from the South since modern plumbing has replaced the outhouses and never was much of a problem in cooler climates. Some worms can still be a problem in third-world countries but in the US, Europe and many other places the risk is negligible (and well treatable in the *rare* case you get it; the horrible pictures of huge worm infections are from those who have no access to modern medicine) to, depending on location and climate, zero too.
Reply:Is this a trick question or are you for real?
If for real, then you must be very young or really not in tune with real life.
As the responder above said, there are places where you can go barefoot and some you can%26#039;t or shouldn%26#039;t. To not know the difference is pretty bad, but I guess you%26#039;re actually open to realizing this since you posted.
I%26#039;m sure that what the parole officer told you in his/her lecture are the same things which I would ennumerate. Mostly though it is just about using common sense.

Reply:My friend Selteti had some, but thw whole shoe was clear. It was funny b.c he wore weird socks. But anyway he just used water and cleaned them clean.
Reply:Clean them everyday and dont use them in any sports or in P.E
Reply:glue (with a gluestick so its clear) a white peice of paper and it will last pretty long.do it almost every other day. i hear that it will turn yellow anyway. if it gets one bit moist, once it dries (in the sun) like 30 times it will get a tint to it.
Reply:wash them everyday after you wear them...lol idk maybe it would help! lol : )
Reply:why not try covering them with the scotch guard or some shellac or clear paint. Then when you wash them off the dirt and grime will rinse away.
might work.

I have been wearing heels over 4" high for the last 8 months, Any thoughts or suggestions?
I stopped wearing any shoes with heels under four inches about 8 months ago. I can honestly say I don%26#039;t miss my flat shoes any more. I plan on never wearing low heels for the rest of my life! Does anyone else ever just wear only heels?
I have been wearing heels over 4%26quot; high for the last 8 months, Any thoughts or suggestions?
No--I wear them pretty frequently and have some on now, but I don%26#039;t want my calf muscles and hamstrings to be shortened, so I try to wear a variety of heel heights. In my own experience, flats are not necessarily easier to wear than heels, as my feet roll in them.
Wedges might be a good alternative.
It is true that nothing looks sexier than a heel....
Reply:It%26#039;s not a very good idea to wear heels 24/7. It is not good for your back or feet. Heels with a 2 inch heel are equally as sexy as one with a 4 inch heel. Any ones higher than that tend to look a little trashy and, to be honest, a bit ridiculous as well.
I do wear heels often (I hate sneakers and flip flops, ew!), but I make sure to alternate between heels and flats so I won%26#039;t be in pain later on. I also don%26#039;t wear any higher than 3 inches. Ones higher than that are just way too uncomfortable.
Reply:well no... i normally wear flip-flops or uggs.
and to go out..... flats or flip flops :)
you know wearing high heals a lot will give you a foot disease called planter faishyitis..
you get it from having too high of an arch which supposivly is given to you by wearing high heals too much.. so stick with flat based shoes.
cuz you dont want planter faishyitis my mom has it.. and she says it hurts when it really starts to kick in..
(im not telling you that you cannot wear high heals again just wear them on special occassions when you think you need to be dressed up or fancy)
Reply:I love my 3 to 4%26quot; heels but I also love my flats and sneakers. I do not think its a good idea to wear only one kind of shoe. It seems my feet are happier when I wear lots of different types of shoes! (and I love shoes so that works out great for me:)
Reply:In a few years you%26#039;re going to be so sorry. Heels that high are really bad for your back and they do damage that cant be repaired. Swallow your pride and get some comfy shoes. Heels should ony be worn for a short period of time.

Reply:Nope, I wear flats and heels equally because you can really screw up your feet otherwise.

My toenail is black and purple after a day at basketball camp. What should I do?
This happened to me last year, but to both big toes, at a different basketball camp - I just bought new shoes and it was all better. This time it%26#039;s only my right big toe. It is swollen from the knuckle up, and pretty badly bruised from just below the cuticle and up. I was running/pounding/jumping etc at basketball camp when my toe started aching really badly...it hurt to even move really...so I took off my shoes/socks and it was all bruised. Now, about 10 hours later, it%26#039;s even more bruised and hurts more, whether I move or not. I%26#039;ve been icing and elevating it, took some advil, and I bought new basketball shoes and cushioning socks to use for the rest of camp.
I was just wondering if anybody could give me advice about what else to do to treat it, or what is going to happen...how long to recover, will it hurt even more, is it maybe something worse than just a bruise, etc. All advice is appreciated! Thank you!

You know the RICE solution, right?
rest, ice, compression, elevation
So the only thing you%26#039;re not doing is compressing. Just don%26#039;t compress too tightly. Use athletic tape or a tiny ace bandage and wrap it overnight. A light wrap around the nail might help the pain a little bit (keeping the nail as close to the nail bed as possible) tomorrow during practice. Advil 4 tablets every 6 hours. If that doesn%26#039;t do it all, take 2 Extra Strength Tylenol every 6 hours in between the Advil doses.
Are you sure it%26#039;s not broken? Dislocated? I%26#039;d be much more comfortable with an x-ray. Is there a dr. on board? Take every opportunity to get the shoe off and elevate the foot. Ice 20m on 20m off when possible.
Take care,

Reply:go to the doctor and let them check it out. That%26#039;s what%26#039;s best
Reply:probally bleeding under the toe nail. but it will heal. get over it
Reply:it sounds like either you broke your toe (in which case you can%26#039;t really do anything about it, but still go to see a dr. and they may have you wear a soft shoe and take it easy for a couple days) or you just irritated your toenail to the point where it has become dead. It may actually fall off in the future, as gross as that sounds. But alot of athletes, runners, etc. get this when they are training hard because their feet rub up against their shoes. The point is is that if it continues to hurt you, you should see a dr. just to be sure.
Reply:SOAK IT IN ICE WATER AND ADD SALT TO THE WATER
Reply:did you play basketball with an in grown toenail?? if so, ouch. It happened to me before and i had to go to the doctor he had to take out the dead nail then bandage it for couple of weeks till the nail grows back.
Reply:you need to keep your toenails cut shorter.
This happens to runners all the time - we call it %26quot;black toe%26quot;
It is caused by the toenail being jammed against the inside of the shoe repeatedly and the nail bed bruising.
It will recover, but if you don%26#039;t keep your toenails short, it will just keep happening
Reply:First thing to do is to clip your toenails very short. By doing this they won%26#039;t suffer blunt force trauma anymore. You will most likely lose the toenails, but if not just remember to keep them cut short.
Reply:always seek medical help when you are unsure of the symptoms, statistics show that 73% of those that seek help are correct in assuming that it is a larger problem. sounds like you cracked the bone and/or ruptured a main capillary.good luck....
